Senate live streaming, now on air

Few months ago, Senator Kiko Pangilinan filed Resolution No. 53 calling for the live streaming of Senate proceedings in the plenary as well as hearings and meetings of the Senate Committees to provide accurate information in real time to the public.

The said resolution was adopted last September 28, 2010 and the Senate live streaming’s maiden broadcast was aired on November 23, 2010 during Session No. 42 of the 15th Congress First Regular Session.

According to Sen. Pangilinan, the live streaming will p

romote greater transparency in everything that the solons will say or do on the senate floor, and it will be known in real time anywhere in the world where the internet is available.

To view live streaming of Senate sessions during Monday-Wednesday, 3:00 PM onwards and to be updated on committee hearings, usually being held anytime from Monday- Thursday, you may visit the Senate website at www.senate.gov.ph.
