Filipino comic book writer, artist Gerry Alanguilan: Nominated for Eisner

The list of Einser award nominations just came out and Filipino comic book writer, and artist Gerry Alanguilan (SLG) was included on the list for his book, “Elmer,” (Amazon link) under “Best Graphic Album.” Elmer is a book where Chickens have acquired intelligence, and human consciousness.

The Will Eisner Comic Industry Award, or Eisner is a prize given for creative achievement in American Comic books which was established in 1987 and named in honor of writer and artist, Will Eisner.

This year’s Eisner was announced by Comic-Con International. The nominees according to the official press release, “were chosen by a blue-ribbon panel of judges, reflect the wide range of material being published in comics and graphic novel form today, from heartfelt autobiographical works to books aimed at kids, and teens to deluxe hardcover archival editions.
