CA confirms Cayetano Paderanga, Jr., as NEDA boss

@sunstaronline tweeted that the Commission on Appointments confirmed Cayetano “Dondon” Woo Paderanga, Jr., PhD., as National Economic Development Authority Director-General.

Director-General Paderanga, a former economics Professor at the University of the Philippines is from Camiguin Province, Mindanao. He took his accounting degree from De La Salle University, which he followed with a degree on Industrial Economics from the Center for Research and Communication before working for and receiving his PhD in Economics from Stanford University. Paderanga previously held the position, Director-General of NEDA under President Corazon Aquino between 1990 and 1992. After which, he became a member of the Monetary Board of the Philippine central bank between 1993 until 1999. Then as Executive Director for the Philippines at Asian Development Bank between 2001 to 2003.

As a visiting professor in Kobe University, Japan, Dr. Paderanga wrote a research paper on the Global economic crisis of 2009 entitled, “Learning From The Global Crisis – New East Asian Model.”
