Typhoon Chedeng (International: Songda) remains a Category 4 storm as it leaves the Philippines, and is expected to weaken to a category 3 storm. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued gale warning no. 10. The seaboards of Luzon and Western Visayas will continue to experience monsoon rains, with very rough sea conditions and wave height between 3.7 meters to 5 meters. Boats are advised not to leave port and ships are warned against big waves.

Chedeng as of 4 o’clock in the morning was located 200 kilometers Northeast of Basco, Batanes. According to PAGASA’s severe Weather Bulletin No. 20 Signal No. 2 is raised over the Batanes Group of Islands, while signal no. 1 is raised over the Calayan Group of Islands, and Babuyan Group of Islands.
