Trade officials said President Aquino, in their meeting on Wednesday meant to resolve the last few remaining kinks in the 2011 Investments Priorities Plan (IPP), pushed for the relisting of “creative industries,” including television and film production, to fully develop the country’s potential in the field.
The officials said President Aquino also ordered the retention of disaster-mitigating projects in the 2011 IPP, rounding off the list to at least 13 priority sectors.
Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo said President Aquino sees a huge potential for the country’s creative industries.
Domingo said companies in these industries that serve the domestic market should be able to enjoy incentives to be competitive with suppliers outside the Philippines.
