THE Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (Fejodap) yesterday pressed Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Virginia Torres to come clean on the issue that the agency is paying the supplier of drivers’ license even if its contract expired in 2003.
Zenaida Maranan, president of the transport group, said if Torres is adamant on not paying its IT provider, Stradcom Corp., then it should also do the same to Amalgamated Motors Philippines Inc. (AMPI).
Torres has withheld the release of P1.2 billion in payment to Stradcom due to an ongoing intra-corporate dispute between the group of businessman Bonifacio Sumbilla and the group of Stradcom president Cesar Quiambao.
