Kidnappers demand $10M for Fil-Am mom and son

AUTHORITIES have established contact with the captors of two American citizens and a Filipino relative kidnapped last week in Zamboanga City, and the suspects have made a ransom demand.

Zamboanga City Mayor Celso Lobregat confirmed the information although he refused to give details so as not to compromise the safety of the hostages.

“We had a briefing yesterday and what I can say is that there is already contact and what’s important the most is the safety and the lives of the victims,” said Lobregat of Filipino-American Gerfa Yeatts Lunsmann, her 14-year–old son Kevin Eric, and relative Romnick Jackaria, 19. Gerfa is from Zamboanga City.

Lobregat chairs the Crisis Management Committee which is tasked to secure the release of the hostages.
