A lawyer of the Maguindanao massacre victims today filed contempt charges against suspended ARMM governor Zaldy Ampatuan for allegedly defying a court order that only set an outpatient treatment for the murder suspect.
Lawyer Harry Roque, counsel for the slain journalists, filed the petition before the clerk of court of the Quezon City Regional Trial court.
Aside from Ampatuan, Roque also asked the court to cite in contempt Quezon City jail annex warden Bernardino Edgar Camus.
He cited that the two put the “public at a great security risk” when they allowed the indefinite confinement of Ampatuan at the Philippine Heart Center.
The lawyer has lodged a motion to oppose the continued stay of Ampatuan at the PHC for coronary disease.
