Tropical Storm Pedring projected to be a Category 2 storm (updated)

New projections from Weather Underground reveal that Tropical Storm Pedring (International: Nesat) is projected to be a category 2 storm by 3AM Tuesday (27 September 2011). Pedring is projected to have 167 kilometer per hour winds.

The Philippine weather service projects that Pedring will make landfall in Casiguran Aurora, morning of Tuesday, 27 September 2011.

PAGASA raised storm signal number 3 over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Northern Quezon including Polillo Island, Aurora, Quirino and Isabela where potential damage to agriculture, unroofing and damage to structures is high, as well as disruption of communications and electricity, a possibility.

The weather bureau raised signal number 2 over Albay including Burias Island, Sorsogon, Rest of Quezon, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet, Mt. Province, Kalinga, Cagayan and Metro Manila. While signal number 1 is at Ticao Island, Masbate, Marinduque, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Apayao and Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands, as well as Northern Samar.
