This Christmas rings rather sadly for thousands of Filipinos. We’ve each been beaten down by personal tragedy, of some sort or another. We’ve each known someone who find these days to be a great struggle. We’re faced with a national tragedy on a scale that makes Ondoy seem like a walk in the park. And each year we seem to be struggling for the true meaning of Christmas.
Amidst this struggle, one thing seem to struck out— at least for me. “We’re all ok”.
There is this picture in my head that never goes away. It is about a family having dinner to celebrate the holidays. It could be a family because of blood. It could be a family because of friendship. The meal could be simple, or extravagant, but it matters little. I always took much joy in looking at them from behind a window. All is right with the world.
To my ProPinoy family, to the writers, contributors, and most importantly, to you, dear reader, I would love to wish you and yours, a warm Happy Christmas!
