Each year since 2007, the world goes dark on Earth Hour to raise awareness to take action on Climate Change. On March 31, Makati City together with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Ayala Land, Inc., and the Makati Commercial Estate Association, Inc. (MACEA), intends to one up everyone as it goes dark longer for Earth Hour.
The celebration begins at Ayala Triangle Gardens Fountain Area at 6 o’clock in the afternoon.
Andy Ridley, Executive Director and co-founder of Earth Hour, as well as other environmental advocates from different sectors will be part of this historical milestone. Makati is the Philippines’ premier urban lifestyle center, and is known for its strong eco-sustainable development.
Earth Hour was conceived in 2007 by WWF and the Sydney Morning Herald, and heavily supported by the City of Sydney. That year, over 2 million residents of Sydney participated.
