JCI-Manila is the oldest leadership development organization in the Philippines and in Asia. It was formed primarily to fill the need to properly channel the energies and idealism of the Filipino youth into an organization that undertakes activities and projects that would eventually rebound to benefit the community as a whole. JCI-Manila is the first and premier Chapter in the Philippines and in Asia, which contributed to the growth of other chapters all over the Asia-Pacific region.

The Asia America Initiative (AAI) is a non-profit charitable and educational organization that serves as a catalyst for cross-cultural and international cooperation to promote peace, justice and development in order to build healthy communities in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific Region. AAI’s mission is to build hope and empower communities affected by conflict and severe poverty.

 

The JCI-Manila and Asia America Initiative in cooperation with Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Liaison Office in Metro Manila (ALOMM), Barangay Maharlika, Maharlika Elementary School, Young Moro Professionals Network, GroupAid, 7th Civil Relations Group Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Consular Corps of the Philippines and Unipipe Philippines is doing a project called, THE AGE OF PEACE on April 16, 2012 at 9:00AM – 5:00PM in Maharlika Elementary School, Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City. The objectives of this project are to build and bridge generations to respond to the challenges of building sustainable peace and to find sustainable solutions on Building a Culture of Peace across generations. It will also be a day of fun and interaction where the guests and participants will get to experience The Mighty Adventures of KapaYapaAn Intergenerational Mission and learn more about the importance of Intergenerational Peace Building Process, Forming Young Minds to be Catalysts for Peace and Creative Peace-Building as a Way of Bridging Generations for Sustainable Peace. The project will be culminated with an activity called “The Age of Peace: Our Gift for the Future”, a Peace Time Capsule. Mr. Rj Jimenez, Former Scholar of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy and now AAI-Catalyst for Peace Celebrity Ambassador will serenade us with Songs of Peace. He has been supporting AAI’s Building a Culture of Peace projects.

 

Niña Terol-Zialcita

Niña Terol-Zialcita is a “Communicator, Connector, idea Curator, and Changemaker” who uses the power of words and ideas to advocate causes and promote the Philippines at its best. She is ProPinoy.net’s Deputy Editor, as well as Editor-in-Chief of asianTraveler, the longest-running travel magazine in the Philippines. When she is not writing, blogging, or traveling, Niña is conducting writing workshops with Writer’s Block Philippines, hanging out at art galleries and cafés, and performing poetry with her husband, percussionist and performance artist Paul Zialcita. She is also the author of the book "[r]evolutionaries: The new generation of Filipino youth and youth organizations".
