Filipino comic book collectors band together to raise funds for Jonah Hex Co-creator

Dear Friends,

Am writing to you today as a comic book fan, and long time comic book collector.

On 11 April 2012, Filipino comic book artist Tony de Zuniga suffered from a stroke. Tony de Zuniga is best known for his work as the co-creator of Jonah Hex. Though in critical, but stable condition at a hospital in Las Pinas, Tony needs help. And so a group of FIlipino comic book collectors are trying to raise funds for Tony.

We created fansfortonydezuniga.com— an online initiative that hopes to raise funds for Tony de Zuniga through comic book art-related donations. Such art would be sold on site, and 100 percent of proceeds will be deposited to Tony’s bank account.

How exactly can you help?

There are four ways to show your support:
1. Donate Directly
2. Buy items from The Shop.
3. Donate items to be sold
4. Help get the word out.

Filipinos are in the front lines creating, writing, illustrating some of the world’s most iconic characters— from Batman to Superman, from DC to Marvel, today. And in so doing, contributed to pop culture the world over. We hope to encourage this talent to grow, and we hope to standby creators like Tony de Zuniga when they need us. Every little bit helps.

Thank you!
