The Dalai Lama resigns

Tibetan leader, the Dalai Lama has reigned as Tibetan government in exile’s political leader. Breaking News quoted the Dalai Lama saying, “I have repeatedly stressed that Tibetans need a leader, elected freely by the Tibetan people, to whom I can devolve power.”

The resignation comes on the 52nd Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day.

The Tibetan parliament in exile is expected to approve of the Dalai Lama’s wish, the Guardian writes.
